We’re staying in London for a few days before moving on to Kenya. Our missionary hosts, Keith and Kathy Ham have a mission group with them until this weekend, so they asked if we could arrive after their departure. Since our flights moved through London anyway, we decided to spend a couple of days here before catching our next plane to Nairobi. It’s been helpful for us to have some transition time between Springfield and our whirlwind schedule in Nairobi. Life was busy before we left, so these few days are proving to be valuable in preparing spiritually and emotionally for Africa.

Welcome to… Our Blog!
This Christmas, our church is doing something a little…well… different. We’re celebrating Christ’s birth by helping our friends in Nairobi, Kenya.
For the next eight weeks, our West Side church family is remembering that Christmas has always been about God helping those in need. We’re nudging each other to give up something this Christmas so that the kids and families in Nairobi can receive gifts that will change the trajectory of their lives. We’re calling our efforts and our Sunday morning teaching series, A Different Kind of Christmas.
As a couple, we’ve chosen to have A Different Kind of November. We’ll be traveling to Nairobi to lay the ground work for the life-changing projects God has called our church to assist with this Christmas. We’ll be staying with CMF missionaries, Keith and Kathy Ham as we catch the vision for what God could do in and through West Side this holiday season.
We’ll keep you posted on our trip and the progress of A Different Kind of Christmas. Stay tuned…and please pray for us. Most importantly, pray for our church. It’s amazing what we can accomplish together as God’s Family. And, we anticipate God will change us in the process as we free ourselves from consumerism and focus our attention on the wonder of Christ’s birth.
